Company: Ilitha Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd
Division: Regional Sales — Eastern Cape

Location: Eastern Cape — office, field and community-based (Mthatha and East London)

About Ilitha
Ilitha Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd is a broadband provider targeting townships and peri-urban communities. We build our network from towns outbound to the areas where communities live, which means Ilitha’s core network reaches places where households, SMEs and enterprises can all benefit from affordable, high-quality connectivity. Our growth is won on the ground — community by community, ward by ward. Sales leadership at Ilitha is therefore as much about local trust, channel activation and community engagement as it is about pipeline discipline and commercial governance.
Role Purpose
The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for driving revenue growth across the residential, SME, enterprise and wholesale fibre segments in the Eastern Cape region. The role leads a team of sales supervisors and sales representatives, shapes regional go-to-market strategies, manages key accounts, and ensures that sales targets are consistently met and exceeded. As Ilitha’s network expands from towns outward into townships and peri-urban communities, this role converts network build into commercial uptake — owning penetration rates in live coverage areas, activation volumes, churn containment and sustainable ARPU across the region. The ideal candidate is a commercially astute sales leader with deep experience in the South African telecoms or fibre industry, equally comfortable coaching field agents in a township activation and negotiating enterprise or wholesale agreements.
Role Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional sales strategy aligned with the company’s growth targets and market expansion plans. • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across FTTH (Primary), FTTB and Wholesale fibre segments. • Set, monitor and report on monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the region and per representative. • Drive uptake and penetration in newly live coverage areas in coordination with network rollout plans. • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer data to refine sales approaches and offers. 2. Team Leadership & Development • Recruit, coach and manage a high-performing team of inside sales representatives, field sales executives and channel agents. • Management of Sales Supervisors • Set individual KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and development support. • Foster a target-driven, customer-first sales culture within the team. • Design and deliver sales training covering product knowledge, objection handling, compliance and closing techniques. • Build succession depth and local sales capability from within the communities Ilitha serves. 3. Customer Acquisition & Key Account Management • Oversee the full sales cycle from lead generation and prospecting through to contract closure and onboarding handover. • Build and maintain strong relationships with key enterprise and government accounts in the region. • Collaborate with marketing to develop lead-generation campaigns and demand-generation initiatives. • Ensure a seamless customer experience during the sales process in coordination with technical and operations teams. • Protect the base — monitor churn drivers and lead win-back and retention initiatives for at-risk accounts. 4. Channel & Partner Management • Develop and manage relationships with channel partners, estate and property developers, and ISP resellers. • Negotiate partnership agreements and commercial terms with external stakeholders within delegated authority. • Drive adoption of the company’s services within multi-dwelling units (MDUs), business parks and social housing developments. • Establish partner performance scorecards and conduct regular partner reviews. 5. Market Intelligence & Community Go-to-Market • Lead community-based go-to-market activations in townships and peri-urban coverage areas — events, local influencers, ward-level engagement. • Maintain a live view of competitor footprint, pricing and promotions across the region (mobile, fixed wireless and fibre alternatives). • Feed structured market intelligence into product, pricing and network rollout planning. • Represent Ilitha with local stakeholders — municipalities, community forums and business chambers — to build brand trust and unlock demand. 6. Reporting, Forecasting & Commercial Governance • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting data in the CRM system (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot). • Produce weekly and monthly sales reports for senior leadership, including pipeline health, conversion rates and revenue attainment. • Manage the regional sales budget responsibly and ensure cost-effective use of resources. • Ensure sales practices comply with POPIA, CPA and RICA requirements and with internal delegation-of-authority rules.
